As you climb the stairs, you emerge from the relatively dark ground-floor zone into the lighter upper floor, where a stucco-work sun on the ceiling sends out its rays.

This little scene is intended to suggest that the margrave's sphere is located not in the earthly world, but somewhere between heaven and earth – in the Age of Absolutism the ruler was seen as a mediator between God and man.
