Information for people with mobility impairment

Disabled parking

  • Visitor car park in the south-west of the rock garden (50 spaces); no designated disabled parking spaces

  • Distance from the car park to the castle visitor centre: approx. 200 m uphill; gradient over 6% in places; path surface: asphalt, paved gravel and uneven paving

 

Disabled toilets

One disabled toilet each in the ladies' and men's toilets of the visitor centre (accessible during opening hours)

It is unfortunately not possible for people in wheelchairs or with severe walking disabilities to visit Zwernitz Castle.

 

Visitor centre (ticket office and shop)

Stepless entrance; entrance door must be opened manually and opens inwards

Access to the castle
  • The path from the visitor centre to the lower castle courtyard leads steeply uphill (gradient over 6%, uneven paving).

  • The exhibition rooms are only accessible from the castle courtyard via several flights of stairs.

Interior
  • Tour mostly barrier-free

  • Doors at least 100 cm wide; door towards the tower approx. 80 cm wide

  • Level, non-slip flooring

  • Seats available

 

Sanspareil Rock Garden

Most parts of the rock garden are easily accessible by wheelchair; only some areas are restricted by steep paths and steps. Seating is available.
