Information for people with mobility impairment

Disabled parking

  • Visitor car park in the south-west of the rock garden (50 spaces); no designated disabled parking spaces

  • Distance from the car park to the castle visitor centre: approx. 200 m uphill; gradient over 6% in places; path surface: asphalt, paved gravel and uneven paving

 

Disabled toilets

One disabled toilet each in the ladies' and men's toilets of the visitor centre (accessible during opening hours)

 

Visitor centre (ticket office and shop)

  • Stepless entrance; entrance door must be opened manually and opens inwards

  • Accessible lockers

 

Zwernitz Castle

It is unfortunately not possible for people in wheelchairs or with severe walking disabilities to visit Zwernitz Castle.

Access to the castle

  • The path from the visitor centre to the lower castle courtyard leads steeply uphill (gradient over 6%, uneven paving).

  • The exhibition rooms are only accessible from the castle courtyard via several flights of stairs.

Interior

  • Tour mostly barrier-free

  • Doors at least 100 cm wide; door towards the tower approx. 80 cm wide

  • Level, non-slip flooring

  • Seats available

 

Oriental Building at Sanspareil

The Oriental building is accessible via a ramp.

  • Doors at least 110 cm wide

  • Flooring: historic parquet, partly carpeted

  • Seating available

  • Wheelchair-accessible desks

  • Texts that can be read whilst seated

 

Sanspareil Rock Garden

The rock garden is wheelchair-accessible in certain areas (signposted path to the ruin theater). However, large parts of the park are not barrier-free due to steep or stony paths or because of steps. Seating is available.
