Chivalrous miniatures – Dr. Löer Collection

The permanent exhibition "Chivalrous miniatures – Dr. Löer Collection", which is displayed in three newly designed museum rooms, contains around 100 miniature paintings dedicated to the realm of amor, most of them by 18th-century French artists.

This collection, the only one of its kind in the world, was donated to the Bavarian Palace Administration by Eva and Hans-Ullrich Löer from Westphalia.

The small paintings are characterized by beauty, eroticism, wit and esprit. They are thus an ideal complement to the court life devoted to the muses which was cultivated by Margravine Wilhelmine in the 18th century.
